| Tandem Consulting works with
clients to identify or establish their point of differentiation: the
characteristic that makes their organization and its services or
programs unique. The point of differentiation becomes the core of a
strategy to leverage and sustain this uniqueness to gain a competitive
advantage—in the marketplace, among ideas, or in the pursuit of
resources. Team members then work in tandem with the client to develop
or adapt structures and processes that support the new strategy.
Strategic Planning—Tandem leads clients through the basic steps of
assessing their strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and challenges.
The team guides clients through a structured process of identifying
where they want to be and how they want to get there. And it helps
clients build a destination plan that is both aspirational and
achievable.
The end result is not just a road map, but an action plan that guides
the organization’s activities and leads to measurable performance
milestones.
Resource Development—Tandem helps clients develop and expand the
internal and external resources upon which they depend. For example, the
consultants coach some clients on how to better utilize the talents,
expertise and contacts of their boards of directors; they help others
strengthen their boards by identifying gaps in expertise or talents,
then identifying and recruiting new members; finally, when appropriate,
they provide training to improve the effectiveness of existing board
members.
Tandem helps its nonprofit clients identify and cultivate potential
funders. And the firm helps corporate clients identify potential
partners whose goals are compatible and who may help advance strategic
objectives for their mutual benefit.
Program Development—Tandem assists its clients in creating new
programs or adapting existing programs to meet objectives of a new
strategy. Just as important, the firm designs exit strategies to help
its clients discontinue a program that no longer fits within newly
defined objectives. |
