Sharon D. Greene brings nonprofit
strategic planning and marketing communications expertise to Tandem Consulting’s
practice. Prior to joining in the creation of Tandem Consulting, she had
her own communications firm, serving corporate clients such as IBM,
Siemens, and Coca-Cola, as well as state public-health agencies and
nonprofit organizations.
Much of her work has focused on
designing local and statewide community-awareness programs to promote
public-health issues and programs, and developing fund-raising materials
for nonprofit organizations. She wrote the case statement that helped the Atlanta Organizing
Committee raise more than $5 million to bid for the 1996 Summer
Olympics. She has developed similar documents for clients such as the
Alabama Shakespeare Festival, the Leonard Bernstein Center in Nashville,
Zoo Atlanta, and Atlanta’s renowned Ebenezer Baptist Church.
In her
marketing capacity, Greene has conducted focus group research, developed
brand identity, conducted testing interviews, developed
community-awareness programs and obtained sponsorships. She also
develops marketing materials for nonprofit organizations, and advises
them on strategic planning and organizational issues.
Greene’s communications firm worked with the Cancer Control Program of
Georgia’s Department of Human Resources to create and develop “BreasTEST,”
a highly successful educational campaign on mammography screening for
older women in Georgia.
An active community volunteer, Greene currently serves as vice chair
of the board of the Gore Range Natural Science School and is a member of
Rotary. She was a board
member of the Atlanta Ballet; Project Read, where she served as board
chair; and The Bridge, a residential treatment center for abused and
neglected teens.
